I love the play between dark, spicy brambleberries and blackcurrants and more lifted notes of sour cherries and citrus.

Full-bodied and tangy with juicy fruit and succulent tannins. Drink now.

 

Augusto Recantina Montello – Colli Asolani DOC 2016 –  91 pt

The fruit has certainly been dialed up here and ranges from blackcurrant compote to violet reduction and herb liqueur.

Some well needed, direct tannins pick up the plush flavors and keep them firm and juicy. Tangy on the finish. Drink now.

 

Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOCG 2014 – 92 pt

This is a big Amarone, showing so much dark chocolate, vanilla, dark plums, meat, wet earth, eucalyptus and coffee beans. Full-bodied and very decadent indeed with a ton of dried fruit, a touch of sweetness and a long, chewy finish. A fruit-forward style, but I like it. Drink in 2023.

Asolo Prosecco Superiore

DOCG Extra Brut

Production area: This Prosecco with controlled and guaranteed designation of origin is made with the best Glera grapes coming from vineyards located in the Veneto region in the hilly area of Montello and the Asolo hills, in the municipality of Nervesa della Battaglia and more specifically in the vineyards of the “Aria Valentina”, located on the Montello slopes.

Soil characteristics: Red clayey soil.

Vineyard: The Sylvoz and Guyot training systems are used, with anywhere between 3500 to 4500 vines per hectare according to the estate.

Bouquet: clean, with typical intense notes and elegant fruity hints. First the scent of pear and green apple, followed by underripe white peach and wild spring flowers.

Flavour: a crisp mouthfeel at first, savory and fresh with notes of white and yellow pulp fruits, especially peach and pear, good lasting finish of apple and pear skin and pulp.

Food pairings excellent both as an aperitif and throughout the meal; always suitable for important occasions.

Serving temperature: 6 - 8 ° C.

Effective alcoholic strength: % vol. 11.50 ± 0.50

Sugar content: g/l 3.50 ± 1.0

Type of packaging: 0.75 l glass bottles packed in cardboard boxes containing 6 bottles.
